Pick up time at your Auckland Hotel/Motel is 8-30am.
We depart Auckland and travel south, en-route you pass through the Market Garden area of South Auckland, townships and lush Waikato farmland
As we move towards Hobbiton we will offer you full commentary on our way.
We pass through breath-taking farm land as we make our way towards Hobbiton .A guided 2 hour fascinating Tour of the Hobbiton Movie Set, the largest out-door film set in the world, where The Lord of the Rings [trilogy] and The Hobbit [ trilogy] were filmed.
The charming countryside of the Shire,as described in JRR Tolkien’s books,was carefully created on this working sheep and beef farm.On your guided tour you’ll see Hobbit holes,the mill,the Green Dragon Inn ( where you will receive a complimentary drink ) and other structures created for the films,and learn how farmland was transformed into a living, breathing piece of Middle-earth.
As we leave Hobbiton Movie Set we view the Kaimai Ranges which boast panoramic views across the Provence of Waikato.
As we head back to Auckland Travel time is around 2 and a half hours – arriving back around at your hotel around 5-30pm
